5th & 6th Grade Math Teacher
Tanya began her career as an Environmental Educator on the coast of South Carolina after completing her undergraduate degree in Marine Biology from the College of Charleston. She took a short break from education to do research with the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources before moving to New England for graduate school. While in graduate school for Environmental Science and Education at Antioch University, Tanya continued to work in the “outdoor classroom” in the Adirondacks of New York.
After completing her Masters’, she found her way to teaching in a classroom, where she has been teaching Math and Science for the past 12 years, 8 of which she spent as an adolescent program director and guide at a Montessori school. She is very excited to be joining the FernLeaf community!
Tanya enjoys spending her free time outside with her husband and kids, whether it’s riding bikes at the park, playing disc golf, camping by the river, or exploring the mountains on backpacking trips!
