Erica Grimes

Erica was born and raised in Indiana. Her passion for teaching can be traced back to growing up in a family of educators, and her teaching experience overseas in Taiwan.  While living in Taiwan, she was inspired to come back from traveling and pursue a teaching license from UNCA.  

Erica also received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in metal working from Ball State University. She loves bringing her art expertise into the classroom to create fun and engaging activities for her students. Additionally, Erica spent time backpacking throughout Southeast Asia studying and learning about different cultures. 

Erica has been teaching in western North Carolina for the last four years, and is excited to be starting a new journey at FernLeaf.  When she is not teaching, you can find her hiking with her partner Micheal and their dog Nettle, working in her metals studio, playing disc golf or enjoying live music.
