FernLeaf Lunch Program

FernLeaf partners with a local catering company to provide healthy lunch options for students and staff at a modest cost.

Support for families in need will be provided based on Federal Poverty Guidelines. If you would like financial support please contact If you would like to donate support for the FernLeafer lunch fund, there is an option to "Buy a Lunch for a Buddy" in My Payments Plus.

See below for the current month's menu.

In order to accommodate the stomach sizes of Kindergarteners through teenagers, we have created two different "sizes" of lunches. There is a regular portion size and a LARGE portion size.

A regular portion is akin to a kids' menu sized meal. A large portion size is about 20% larger and is meant for kids who have outgrown those smaller portions.

Lunch is a la carte, meaning you only order and pay for the days you want it for your child. Every day there is a gluten free and vegetarian option.

Please place your order by the Wednesday BEFORE the week you are ordering for. We cannot accommodate late orders.

FernLeaf offers bus service to help students and families who might otherwise not be able to access our unique programming. Free morning pickup and afternoon drop off is available in convenient locations throughout the Asheville and Hendersonville areas.

Seats are limited, so access to bus transportation will be determined through a lottery, similar to the regular student enrollment process. Please complete an application by clicking the button below if you are interested in a seat on the bus. Our annual bus lottery is held in July. Please fill out one application for each FAMILY.  Email questions to

We also use our fleet of buses for the multiple fieldwork opportunities our students attend every year.

Since our families come from all over western North Carolina we have created ways for families to connect and create carpooling groups.

1. Join our Facebook group for currently enrolled families and ask around for carpooling opportunities.

2. Sign up through the "Share the Ride" website to find others wanting to carpool.
