Elizabeth Murphy
Kindergarten Teacher Assistant
Elizabeth Murphy was born and raised in Western North Carolina, where she spent much of her childhood exploring the forests and creeks that inspired her lifelong love of nature and animals. Elizabeth’s passion for working with children and adolescents began when she worked as an in-home caregiver for children with special needs. She enjoyed building meaningful relationships with each child and helping them achieve their individual goals.
After becoming a parent herself, Elizabeth pursued a career in early childhood education and began working in child care as a lead teacher. During her time in child care, she had the opportunity to help develop and launch a gardening program at that center. Creating hands-on learning experiences and connecting children with nature was especially rewarding for both Elizabeth and her students.
In her free time, Elizabeth enjoys spending time in her backyard with her children, chickens, and other animals. She loves participating in family activities like fishing and camping, creating art projects, and tending to her garden.
