Alissa Arrington

Alissa's passion for Physical Education can be traced back to her childhood days playing soccer every Sunday before spaghetti dinner at her grandparents house. She grew up in Western New York, where she spent most of her time on the family farm with her many cousins. Playing every sport or outdoor activity they could think of in the rain, sun, or snow!

Alissa spent some time as a landscaper, a personal trainer, and a nanny before taking a leap into AmeriCorps, which brought her to Western North Carolina. Those experiences prepared her to start the Physical Fitness and Athletics programs here at FernLeaf.

Alissa is a graduate of SUNY Fredonia, where she majored in Exercise Science and minored in Coaching. When she is not busy with teaching, she can be found spending time with her friends, playing sports and yard games with her husband, or cheering on the Buffalo Bills!
