FernLeaf as a concept was born nearly two decades ago around a camp fire with a group of local educators that wanted to approach education in a different way.
FernLeaf opened the Creek Campus, a 26-acre parcel located on Howard Gap Rd. across from Fletcher Park, to families with K-3 students in 2016. This parcel was donated by a local philanthropist.
In 2019, FernLeaf acquired the Wilderness Campus, a 93-acre mountainous parcel with existing trail network and view overlooking the French Broad River Valley and Blue Ridge Mountains.
MISSION & VISION
FernLeaf's mission is to foster a rich learning environment that embodies the essence of community, understanding and the human spirit. Grounded in humble respect for our surroundings, the individual and the world as a whole, we seek to engage the unique passions and aptitudes of our school community so that in addition to achieving academic fluency, students become thoughtful, compassionate and engaged.
