Laura Rojas Rondon

1st Grade Teacher

Laura Rojas grew up in Bogotá, Colombia, where she discovered her love for teaching by helping her classmates with two of her favorite subjects: chemistry and English. She earned her bachelor's degree in Bilingual Education from Universidad El Bosque in 2016.

Teaching in both Colombia and the United States has given Laura the opportunity to learn from two different educational systems and grow as an educator. She loves helping students become confident bilingual readers and inspiring young writers to become published authors.

Laura believes every child should feel safe, valued, and excited to learn. She enjoys building strong relationships with her students and creating a classroom where every child feels they belong.

When she is not teaching, Laura enjoys running, hiking with her Boston terrier, exploring new places with her husband and daughter, Amalia, and cooking traditional Colombian dishes. She especially loves making arepas and homemade soups, which remind her of her hometown, Bogotá.
