Josh Dunkin

Upper School Theater Arts Teacher

Josh is a passionate artist, educator, and family man dedicated to fostering creativity in everyone! Growing up a military brat took Josh around the globe at a young age and taught him to embrace people and cultures of all types. He earned his degree in theatre from Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) and spent twelve enriching years immersed in Chicago’s vibrant theatre and comedy scene. As co-founder of The Public House Theatre, he has produced, directed, and performed in original productions all across North America.

Since 2015, Josh and his family have embraced the beauty of Hendersonville, NC. As an accomplished musician, he performs throughout Western North Carolina. Josh served as Board President of The Arts Council of Henderson County, where he actively worked to create opportunities for local artists.

Josh has studied and practiced improvisation at the famed Second City in Chicago, vocal improvisation with Bobby McFerrin, and spent six years teaching art, music, and theatre at Hendersonville Elementary, a NC STEM School of Distinction. Josh is thrilled to bring his innovative teaching practices and life experiences to create opportunities for Fernleafers to find their voice and express themselves!
