Audrey Rudinsky
K-4th Grades Exceptional Children Teacher
Audrey grew up outside of Raleigh, NC where she first became interested in
teaching and disability advocacy at age thirteen. She pursued her passion for
disability education through college and summers spent as a camp counselor for
children with disabilities. She has also worked with children with disabilities as a
tutor and teacher’s assistant, before becoming a teacher.
Audrey obtained both her Bachelor of Science in Special Education and Master of
Arts in Special Education from Appalachian State University. Audrey has two
years of experience as a special education teacher, working with students on the
general and adapted curriculums.
Audrey believes every student can succeed with the appropriate supports and
strives to build student confidence in themselves and their abilities. She advocates
for the individual needs of her students, meaningful opportunities for inclusion,
and the necessity of social-emotional learning instruction.
This is Audrey’s first year teaching at FernLeaf, after moving from Boone, NC.
She is looking forward to working in a collaborative, community-centered
environment, meeting new people, and expanding her educational expertise.
Outside of school, Audrey can be found spending time with her partner, watching
animal documentaries, exploring the outdoors, eating Indian food, and antique
shopping.
