Aimee Doyle
K-4 EC Teacher Assistant
Aimee’s passion for supporting students in the classroom grew after moving to North Carolina, when she was drawn to more meaningful, people-centered work. Before entering education, she spent over a decade in Northern Virginia working in healthcare and association membership, where she developed strong skills in communication, relationship-building, and supporting the needs of others.
After planting roots in WNC, Aimee transitioned into work supporting individuals with diverse learning needs across home, clinic, school, and community settings. During this time, she discovered how much she values building strong relationships and helping each child grow in a way that feels right for them. She believes humor and a little lightness are essential parts of learning and is committed to creating inclusive, engaging spaces where students feel a sense of belonging.
Aimee grew up moving frequently as part of a military family and relocated to Northern Virginia in high school, where she later met her husband, Patrick. She moved to Asheville in 2017 and quickly fell in love with the mountains and strong sense of community. Aimee holds a Bachelor’s in Psychology from George Mason University and later earned her Master of Arts in Special Education from Arizona State University, with a focus in Applied Behavior Analysis, grounding her work in inclusive, compassionate practices that support student growth and access to learning.
Aimee and Patrick welcomed their son, Rowan, in 2020, and they are thrilled to be joining the FernLeaf family. Being both a parent and educator continues to shape her empathetic, relationship-centered approach. Outside of school, she enjoys caring for her many indoor plants, hanging with her dog, Cannoli, and cat, Linguini, camping with friends and family, and exploring nearby small towns.
