Agnes Weyers
1st Grade Teacher Assistant
Agnes grew up climbing trees and exploring creeks in southern Indiana. She loved school, and knew from an early age that she wanted to be a teacher. After studying Elementary Education at Indiana University, Agnes began her teaching journey as a Kindergarten Teacher at University Elementary School, where she implemented the International Baccalaureate philosophy to cultivate caring, culturally aware, and inquisitive students. Most recently, she served as the Lead Sprouts Teacher at Asheville Farmstead School, leading a fully outdoor mixed-age preschool class that emphasized hands-on exploration, social-emotional growth, and connection to the natural world. She is passionate about fostering curiosity, building strong relationships, and supporting students as they develop foundational academic and social skills.
In her free time, Agnes enjoys making art, spending time outside, and reading a good book with a cat on her lap. Agnes is excited to continue to learn and grow as a part of the Fern Leaf community!
