Julian Yeo
7th & 8th Grade Science Teacher
Julian's enthusiasm for teaching can be traced back to his parents' encouragement of their children's education whenever they struggled in school. He grew up in midtown Toronto, ON, in a large family where his parents taught him and his siblings to take learning seriously, to value hard-work, and to give back to society. He is very proud of the fact that all of his siblings have pursued diverse careers with these values in mind.
As an extremely diverse city, growing up in Toronto taught Julian to appreciate how terrific multicultural experiences are. He traveled extensively in Europe and Asia and has lived in several different cities before settling down in western North Carolina.
Julian received his Bachelor of Science from the University of British Columbia (UBC), where he majored in Environment and Water Sustainability. He soon returned to UBC in order to earn a Master of Land and Water Systems. He received his Bachelor of Education at Memorial University in St. John's, Newfoundland & Labrador. After work, you can find Julian reading and writing at home or in a coffee shop. He also enjoys playing music with friends on the weekends or hiking with his wife in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
