Emma Nash
5th and 6th Grade Teacher Assistant
Emma’s favorite thing to do as a child and teenager was go to school, so it only makes sense that she would work in education. She has been looking for a school that supports the whole student and is more than thrilled to be part of the FernLeaf team!
Growing up in Signal Mountain, Tennessee, a designated bird sanctuary, and attending a tiny elementary school out in the woods fostered a deep appreciation for nature, especially for how the natural world enhances learning. At 18, she made the move to Western North Carolina to pursue a bachelor’s degree in psychology. After trying many different occupations post-graduation, she finally decided to earnestly pursue a career in education. She started at Kanuga Conferences as a member of the children’s activity staff and then joined Montessori Country Day as a Floating Assistant and After-School Teacher. She had so much fun teaching little ones but is very ready to work with older kids and teenagers.
When Emma isn’t at FernLeaf, you can find her at home in Hendersonville reading, knitting, researching folklore, farming via video games, playing with the four cats she shares with her wife, or caring for her growing houseplant collection.
