Max Royal

Max's love for teaching was realized during his experiences working within the recreation industry - guiding various adventure sports, facilitating programs in summer camps, and instructing during his undergraduate career. He is from Winston-Salem, NC, but has found the mountains to be his true home where he can fully engage with his community, and enjoy the multitude of natural playgrounds found here in southwest North Carolina.

A deep appreciation for nature, as well as a passion for working with youth are what drove Max to find a workplace community where he can both engage in his natural surroundings, as well as introduce, guide, and encourage those who are most impacted by outdoor experiential learning. A lover of music, travel, and good food, Max has many invaluable experiences under his belt, but is always looking for that next great campfire story.

Max is a graduate of Appalachian State University, where he majored in Recreation Management with a concentration in Outdoor Experiential Education. He hopes to continue his studies in the near future.
