EC Assistant

Lindsey grew up in Weaverville, NC and spent her youth participating in dance, soccer and marching band. After many recitals, competitions and annual Nutcracker performances she quickly learned she loved expressing herself through the arts and continued to dance and play flute and piccolo through college.

Upon graduating from Appalachian State University with a Bachelor’s in Gender, Women’s and Sexuality Studies in 2018 she began seeking opportunities that would allow her to help the healing and growth of others through movement and advocacy. She began as a Dance Instructor at the studio she grew up in and was in the midst of working on a local high school’s musical theater production as Choreographer when the COVID-19 pandemic hit. It was only one week prior that she accepted a position at an addiction treatment center and would begin working with clients in early substance abuse recovery as a Behavioral Health Technician and Movement Group Leader at the top of the pandemic. It was in this role she saw the raw power that healing through movement holds while simultaneously developing skills of ‘meeting others where they’re at’. From here, she knew these were the values that would lead her through life.

She was immediately drawn to FernLeaf upon learning about the similar mindfulness values that they held and has since been thrilled, grateful, and forever changed to be a part of this team. Her priority is to meet each of her students in the present moment and to help them grow through creative engagement. Other than spending her time working with both her school and dance studio students, she enjoys spending quality time with her family, friends and her cat, Audrey.
