Lauren Stanfield
7th & 8th Grade English Language Arts Teacher
Lauren spent her childhood hiking throughout western North Carolina with a family that sang in three-part harmony on road trips. She attended Queens University of Charlotte, double majoring in music and French, and went to deepen her understanding of French culture by teaching English in the southwest of France. There, she combined her passions, leaning heavily on music to teach language. This experience made it clear that working with kids was the best way to spend the day!
After returning to App-uh-latch-uh, she worked in the non-profit industry while pursuing her Master’s in teaching from Lenoir Rhyne University. Through her years of experience in the classroom, she has honed her technique of nurturing the whole student, singing embarrassing songs, and reading as much as possible.
When not chasing her two children and equally speedy husband, Lauren is probably still running for fun. When she sits, she’s reading, practicing calligraphy, or playing Chopin nocturnes.
