Caitlin grew up in Minnesota, where she spent most of her time exploring the woods and lakes with her family. In college, she spent her summers working as a trip leader and cabin counselor at a small camp in Northern Minnesota. It was during these summers that Caitlin realized she wanted to turn her passion for the outdoors into a career. Post college graduation, she took jobs teaching outdoor education all over the world, including New Zealand, Australia, and Hong Kong. Upon her return to the US, Caitlin continued her outdoor career, working as a wilderness therapy field guide, mountaineering and sea kayaking guide, and ropes course instructor. In 2011, Caitlin found herself moving to western North Carolina to return her summer camp roots, and has been in the area ever since. She recently decided to return to school to pursue her master’s degree in social work. When she is not working or completing school assignments, Caitlin loves to go mountain biking, hiking, and generally hanging outside with her partner Ryan and their pup Dora.
